Problems and Activation Strategies of Korea’s Smart Logistics Centers in the ESG Management Era
코로나 19 등의 영향으로 비대면 경제활동이 급성장함에 따라 생활물류 부문에서도 스마트 물류센터의 중요성이 더욱 크게 부각되고 있다. 더욱이 ESG경영시대 4차 산업혁명에서 제시된 새로운 스마트 기술들은 기업 내부 뿐만 아니라 기업 외부의 공급자 및 국내외 고객 관리 측면에까지 영향을 미치는 큰 변화로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 혁신적인 변화는 특히 중소기업에게 자본과 노력을 요구하는 부담으로 인지되고 있어 정부와 유관기관, 학계를 포함한 다각도의 관심과 지원의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 ESG경영시대 우리나라 스마트물 류센터 문제점과 활성화 방안에 대해 살펴보고자 함이 본 논문의 목적이었는바, 스마트물류센 터 구축에서 가장 큰 문제는 다른 국가에서 선진적인 스마트 물류 기술이 한국에 적용된 사례를 찾기 어렵다는 것이다. 또한, 중소기업이 스마트 물류센터를 구축하기 위한 진입 장벽이 매우 높다. 스마트 물류 창고의 경우 종종 단일 산업에 한정되어 있으며, 주로 공동 물류 처리 수준에서 스마트물류센터로 정의하는 것은 합리적이지 않다. 가장 큰 문제는 스마트물류 기술 부족과 기업 간 기술 개발로 인한 시너지 효과가 부족하다는 점이다. 따라서 스마트 공동 물류 센터로 전진하기 위해서는 중소기업의 진입장벽을 낮출 수 있는 공동 물류 처리 공간이 필요하다. 뿐만 아니라 제 4차 산업혁명기술을 통합한 해양 물류 및 스마트 해운 물류와 연계할 수 있는 국내 물류 센터를 구축하는 것과 클러스터 형성이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 최근 탄소 중립 및 ESG 강화에 따라 친환경, 고효율, 안전한 물류 센터를 구축해야하는 상황에 서, 이러한 친환경 스마트 물류 센터의 구축과 활용은 기업 뿐만 아니라 국가 수준에서 이루어져 야 할 것이다. 물류 정보 생태계의 창출과 활성화를 촉진하고 지원 조치를 마련할 수 있는 전문 운영 기관이 필요하며, 이를 위해 자율 주행 트럭, 클라우드, AI 및 IoT 활용, 콜드 체인 기술과 같은 선진적인 물류 기술을 개발하고 지원 조치를 마련하여야 할 것이다.
ESG경영시대 우리나라 스마트물류센터 문제점과 활성화 방안
As a result of the rapid growth of non-face-to-face economic activities due to the impact of factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of smart logistics centers has become more prominent even in the field of last-mile logistics. The transition to smart logistics is essential for meeting various logistical needs, such as speedy delivery at customer touchpoints. In addition, along with the overall increase in the demand for last-mile logistics services, the concentration of cargo volumes in specific regions such as large cities is putting pressure on logistics centers to handle larger cargo volumes in a short period of time. In order to respond to the increase and concentration of cargo volumes and at the same time respond to rapidly changing and diverse consumer needs, logistics centers need expansion in size, incorporation of advanced technologies, and smartization. Amid these rapid changes in the logistics environment, it is necessary to adapt to such changes and make preparations to achieve a new leap forward, so there is a need to make efforts to implement large-scale restructuring, raise awareness of the emergence of new uncertainties, mitigate the impact of rapid changes in logistics, and improve employment stability through the expansion of training for human resource development. Additionally, logistics firms are required to actively adopt innovative technologies to actively respond to increasingly diverse logistics demands, and strive to strengthen corporate competitiveness through the efficient utilization of internal resources. Moreover, new smart technologies presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the ESG management era can be viewed as significant changes that affect not only the internal activities of companies, but also the management of domestic and foreign customers as well as suppliers outside companies. These innovative changes are perceived to impose a burden in terms of capital and effort needed to deal with them, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, so there is a need for interest and support for this problem from various sectors, including the government, related organizations, and academia. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the problems and activation strategies of smart logistics centers in Korea in the era of ESG management.
